Information Collection and Use
To process your order, we require your name, billing address, phone number, e-mail address, shipping address, and payment information. Your name, address and payment information is used solely to process your order. We share this information with those third parties that are involved in the processing of your order. Typically, either a credit card processor or the financial institution that issued your credit card and the shipping carrier that delivers your order are the only third parties to receive any of your personal information. Even in those instances, each party receives only the information necessary to facilitate the processing and fulfillment of your order. Your e-mail and phone number are used in case we have a question about your order. In the event of a problem with your order, we will try to contact you first by e-mail or by mail and then only telephone you in time-sensitive situations. Additionally, your e-mail address is used to notify you that your order has been received and to subscribe you to our e-mail mailing list. Once subscribed to the mailing list, you may unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions provided in each issue.
Occasionally we conduct user surveys to better target our content and products to our audience. We use the aggregated demographic information in these surveys for marketing purposes and reserve the right to share such aggregated information with our partners. We never share any of this information about specific individuals with any third party.
We have an e-mail mailing list and should you decide to subscribe, we will send you free electronic newsletters from time to time until you unsubscribe. Subscription is optional and you may subscribe via our mailing list subscription form or during the collection of your order information. Once subscribed to the mailing list, you may unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions provided in each issue.
Information We Automatically Collect
Upon visiting our site, we assign you a unique shopper ID and attempt to store that onto your computer in the form of a cookie. This is used to keep track of your shopping basket during your visit. If you are uncomfortable with the idea of being assigned a shopper ID, disable cookie support in your internet browser. Although disabling cookie support will disable the shopping basket feature of our site, you may still place an order by phone or postal mail.
We record IP addresses in the aggregate for monitoring the level of activity on our site and to determine how people arrive at weedthrasher.com, but we do not link this to your shopper ID or any other personal information disclosed by you while visiting any section of our site, with the following exception: When you place an order using our on-line checkout process, we record your IP address with your order to help us identify fraudulent credit card use. We may share this information with the financial institution that issued the credit card with which an order was placed, or with law enforcement authorities if we determine use of the credit card was fraudulent. Apart from that exception, we never share IP address information about any specific individuals with any third party.
Sharing of Information
Aside from the previously mentioned third parties involved in the processing of your order, we do not share your personally identifiable information with any other entities.
We utilize industry standard SSL encryption when accepting your credit card information during our on-line checkout process. In addition, we utilize the same encryption standard when transferring your credit card data to our internal fulfillment system. To further enhance our security measures, our fulfillment system is not accessible via the internet and we delete from our web site database all credit card information within 24 hours of receipt. As we believe the security of your credit card information to be of the utmost importance, we do not offer a non-SSL encryption version of our order form. So, if you disable your internet browser's SSL compatibility feature, you will be unable to use our on-line shopping cart. However, you may still place an order by phone or postal mail.
We may include links to other sites and if you decide to follow those links, we cannot be responsible for the privacy policies and content of those sites.
